Massage Therapist job summary

The Columbus Integrative Family Medical Centers needs a full-time, professional Massage Therapist to assist us with our increasingly busy practice. We provide convenient massage therapy for professionals who endure muscle tension and similar complaints on a daily basis. As a massage therapist you would talk with clients about what they hope to achieve through the massage. You will be involved in suggesting personalized treatment plans for the clients. You will also offer clients information about additional relaxation techniques to practice between sessions. We specialize in relieving tension and promoting holistic healthy mindsets among our customers. Massage Therapist Responsibilities

Provide 30- to 60-minute massages for appointment holders and walk-ins at our location

Guide clients through our service offerings and help them choose the types of massages that would benefit them most

Evaluate clients to locate painful or tense areas of the body and manipulate muscles or other soft tissues of the body to relieve pain and tension

Take detailed histories from clients, including information about any injuries or conditions, in order to provide a holistic and an integrative approach

Design sessions around clients’ specific complaints or problem areas

Listen to clients during massages and adjust technique to meet their needs

Provide clients with guidance on stretching, strengthening, overall relaxation, and how to improve their posture

Document client’s condition and progress and suggest massage schedules for recurring sessions

Massage Therapist Skills

Current and valid state license or certificate for massage therapy

2+ years’ experience as a professional massage therapist

Experience working in a spa or therapy center environment preferred

Reliable transportation required

Excellent customer service and sales skills
